Zelky.com was founded with the idea of connecting people who love sports. On Zelky you can create your own communities of sports enthusiasts, track your own workouts, or just stop in to hang out. We hope that people enjoy the site and live a more active lifestyle because of it.
Where does the name Zelky come from? Zelky is the Greek God of Activity. The step-brother of Zeus, few people know that Zelky was actually more popular than Zeus for a long time before he embarked on a 100 year journey around the world to seek out like-minded sports enthusiasts. He is now believed to be living his life of activity in the mountains of Zanon. (ahem...not all facts in the preceding paragraph have been confirmed at this time.)
Outside of Greek mythology, Zelky refers to one of the people that helped inspire this site. Mr. "Zelky", or Z-dog as he's often referred to, is a high school x-country and track coach that helps run one of the most successful programs in the country. His passion for life and running are great examples for the students he influences and our goal is to share some of this passion through Zelky.com.
